How to Reset Vaal Temple in PoE 2

The Vaal Temple is the defining feature of the Path of Exile 2: Fate of the Vaal league. Unlike Path of Exile 2 Currency traditional endgame content, this optional dungeon allows players to actively shape its layout by placing rooms, paths, and encounter chambers before each run.

If you've placed the wrong rooms, blocked critical pathways, or simply want a fresh start, you might be wondering how to reset the Vaal Temple in PoE 2. While there is no instant reset button, there are several ways to undo bad layouts and strategies you can use to avoid bricking your temple in the first place.

Can You Reset the Vaal Temple in PoE 2?

At the time of writing, there is no way to instantly or manually reset your Vaal Temple. Once you place rooms and start a run, those decisions are largely locked in for that temple instance.

However, the system does include several built-in mechanics that allow parts-or all-of your temple to reset naturally through gameplay. Understanding how these mechanics work is the key to fixing a bad layout.

How to Redo the Vaal Temple Layout

Clear or Abandon Your Current Temple

The most basic way to "reset" part of your Vaal Temple is to enter the dungeon and then either clear it or leave immediately.

When a Vaal Temple run ends-whether by completion or abandonment-some rooms will Destabilize. Destabilized rooms are removed from the layout, creating space for new placements in future runs.

Important notes about Destabilization:

Not all rooms destabilize at once
Which rooms vanish depends on their type.
This process is gradual, not a full wipe

While this method won't completely reset your temple, it's useful for removing a few poorly placed rooms over cheap POE 2 Orbs time.
